Heap Buffer Overflow in DICOM Image Decoder via VR UL Dimensions

The DICOM image decoder performs frame size calculations using 32-bit arithmetic and fails to validate dimension tags that are encoded with VR UL instead of VR US.

Description

A malicious DICOM file with oversized image dimensions can trigger an integer overflow that leads to a heap buffer overflow during image processing.

Impact

Mitigation

Update Orthanc to version 1.12.11 or later.
